About the role

Principal Product Manager to build the HTS API Marketplace, the commercial and developer-facing layer for Hopper's lodging and cars capabilities. 0-to-1 role focusing on packaging, pricing, partner discovery/integration, and evolution of the marketplace as a platform business. Collaboration with capability PMs and cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade API products and a revenue-generating platform.

Responsibilities

  • Define what the HTS API Marketplace is: how capabilities are structured, packaged, and priced across a portfolio spanning HTS Connect, Search Polygons, Autocomplete, Ranking, Content & Property Mapping, Room Mapping, Deduplication/Auction, Pricing, Extranet, Taxes, and Custom Deals Engine.
  • Coordinate with capability PMs to translate roadmap, constraints, and customization surface into externally-consumable API products.
  • Own the commercial model for the marketplace: platform vs. variable fee decisions, take rate structure per capability, enterprise packaging, and custom deals framework for large partners.
  • Build the developer and partner experience from scratch: API specifications, partner onboarding, documentation standards, sandbox environments, and integration tooling.
  • Use AI tools and rapid prototyping to test ideas (mock API responses, partner portals, pricing/ranking configurations).
  • Establish the go-to-market motion for the marketplace: identify partners, sequence launches, define successful commercial rollout.
  • Own the marketplace revenue P&L: model and track GBV, take rate, and per-capability unit economics in partnership with Finance.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Product Management experience, with at least one 0-to-1 product you built from concept to commercial launch.
  • Demonstrated experience building developer-facing or B2B marketplace products, including API product design, developer experience, and commercial packaging for enterprise customers.
  • AI-native working style: experience using LLMs and vibe coding for prototyping and demos before handing off to engineering.
  • Strong understanding of marketplace economics: take rates, incentives, and platform vs. variable commercial models.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple product teams, synthesize roadmaps, surface dependencies, drive cross-team alignment without owning underlying engineering.
  • Experience working with external enterprise partners and managing multi-phase rollouts.
  • Strong fluency with SQL and large-scale transactional/operational datasets.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, including API and product documentation.
