About the role

Lead a perception-focused software engineering team to develop multi-modality perception pipelines (EO/IR, Radar) and a Perception Autonomy service for real-world government and defense deployments. Responsible for technical roadmap, mentoring, cross-team collaboration, and integrating pre-trained models into production pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of software engineers on perception and perception autonomy projects.
  • Oversee development of perception pipelines for EO/IR and Radar, with potential expansion to Acoustics, Passive RF, and Sonar.
  • Oversee the Perception Autonomy service and its behaviors (e.g., camera scanning, slew and cue, object following, dynamic EMCON modes, multi-track custody, sensor track handoff).
  • Lead integration of pre-trained models produced by a separate team into production Perception pipelines.
  • Ensure high-quality, robust software for real-world deployment on hardware.
  • Collaborate with partners and internal teams for milestone success and platform integration.
  • Manage and track multiple priorities toward common project goals.

Qualifications

  • MS in computer science, ML, robotics, or related fields from a top institution.
  • 8+ years industry experience in Perception-related fields (e.g., ATR, ML).
  • 2+ years experience leading teams with varied backgrounds.
  • Experience deploying software to hardware components with rigorous verification and validation.
  • Experience with perception pipelines using real-time data from Radar and EO/IR systems.
  • Deep technical understanding of production-level development in C++ and/or Python for integrating object detectors, classifiers, and few-shot models (ATR models).
  • Experience designing autonomous systems, particularly in off-road, maritime, or aerospace applications.
