About the role

Lead a software and systems team to develop perception pipelines for multiple sensor modalities (EO/IR, Radar) and a Perception Autonomy service for real-world government and defense deployments. Responsible for technical roadmap, team mentorship, integration of pre-trained models, and ensuring high-quality software for hardware deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of software engineers working on perception and perception autonomy projects.
  • Oversee development of perception pipelines using EO/IR and Radar; potentially expand to Acoustics, Passive RF, and Sonar.
  • Oversee the Perception Autonomy service with behaviors such as camera scanning, slew and cue, object following, dynamic EMCON modes, multi-track custody, and track handoff between sensors.
  • Lead integration of pre-trained models into production perception pipelines (models produced by a separate team).
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, robust software for real-world hardware deployment.
  • Collaborate with partners and internal teams to meet project milestones and integrate with peer platforms.
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining alignment with overall project goals.

Qualifications

  • MS in computer science, ML, robotics, or related field from a top institution.
  • 8+ years industry experience in Perception-related fields (e.g., ATR, ML).
  • 2+ years experience leading teams with varied backgrounds.
  • Experience deploying software to hardware components with rigorous verification and validation.
  • Experience with perception pipelines using real-time data from Radar and EO/IR systems.
  • Deep technical understanding of production-level development in C++ and/or Python for integrating object detectors, classifiers, and few-shot models (ATR models).
  • Experience designing and working with autonomous systems, particularly in off-road, maritime, or aerospace applications.
