About the role
Senior role in AMD’s SOC Architecture group focusing on power modeling across SoCs, coordinating with multiple teams to optimize power, performance, and battery life for client and handheld products.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive power modeling effort for CG.
- Work with HW and FW/SW power architects to integrate power and performance modeling framework for rapid prototyping and what-if analysis.
- Define AMD power roadmap and competitive targets for bounding box workloads with internal/external partners and industry standards.
- Perform detailed workload analysis to identify opportunities to increase power efficiency (performance/watt and battery life) across IP, subsystem and SOC.
- Recommend process/flow improvements and drive deployment across teams to meet power bounding box targets.
- Coordinate with SOC architects, SOC/IP design, Systems engineering and Product Engineering to realize power features from concept to implementation, verification, FW/SW enablement, emulation and silicon attainment.
- Lead modeling of complex power use cases across SoC roadmap with correlation to pre-silicon models and post-silicon validation, achieving customer delivery power goals.
- Create power reduction initiatives and align SoC/IP teams for implementation toward power convergence.
- Drive workload classification framework between HW/FW/OS.
- Lead experiments toward an integrated power-performance framework for power-perf improvements, voltage margining and feature ROI analysis.
- Align and drive power feature definitions with cross-BU collaboration with SoC and power architects.
- Optimize PC use cases for absolute power and power-perf efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related discipline (preferred).
- Several years of relevant, commercial experience.
