About the role

Senior Fluid Systems Engineer to support development of liquid cooling and hydraulic fluid systems for the jet-engine VTOL military UAV platform, X-BAT. Responsibilities include designing components and fluid systems, engaging with suppliers, performing system and component analysis and sizing, and owning multiple aspects of X-BAT’s fluid systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design components and fluid systems for X-BAT fluid systems (liquid cooling and hydraulic)
  • Engage with suppliers
  • Perform system and component analysis and sizing
  • Own multiple aspects of X-BAT’s fluid systems
  • Support development of liquid cooling and hydraulic systems for a jet-engine VTOL UAV platform
  • Contribute to system checkout, test, and qualification activities as needed

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years experience with fluid or hydraulic system design, component design, system analysis, supplier management, requirements management, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute design, build, test with rigor at speed
  • Strong CAD skills (NX preferred)
  • Proficiency with fluid or hydraulic system analysis (1st principles, Simscape, Amesim, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated record of hard work, reliability, high standards, and kindness
  • Ability to obtain a S//SAR level security clearance desired
