About the role

AI Research Scientist to advance multimodal foundation models and Generative AI for Apple products. Roles include researching alignment, reasoning, adaptation of large models, building customized on-device and cloud-capable solutions, and delivering production-quality, privacy-aware pipelines and evaluation for multimodal systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prototyping and developing methods to improve alignment, reasoning, and adaptation of large multimodal models for practical Apple use cases.
  • Designing and optimizing large-scale data pipelines for robust training and detailed evaluation of foundation models on massive multimodal datasets.
  • Exploring new techniques to strengthen focused reasoning, multimodal understanding, and adaptive behavior at scale while tailoring solutions for specific Apple experiences (cloud to on-device).
  • Collaborating with multi-functional teams of engineers and researchers to integrate customized models into Apple products and ensure smooth deployment and natural user experiences.

Qualifications

  • MS in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or related technical field, and a minimum of 6 years relevant experience.
  • PhD or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
  • Proficient programming skills in Python and experience with at least one modern deep learning framework (PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow).
  • Experience working with large-scale training pipelines and distributed systems.
