About the role

Engineering Manager role leading Platform Foundations, responsible for core frameworks powering UI development and OS infrastructure, with emphasis on quality, reliability, and performance. Combines hands-on technical leadership with people management to guide OS-level capabilities and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage iOS/macOS/systems-level development teams or similar across multiple engineering organizations
  • Plan projects, allocate resources, and drive delivery of high-quality platform/framework solutions
  • Balance technical leadership with people management to grow engineers and maintain end-user focus
  • Collaborate with leaders across UI layers to low-level OS infrastructure to advocate for technical direction and priorities
  • Foster ownership, innovation, and cross-functional partnerships while ensuring performance and reliability

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of engineering management experience leading iOS, macOS, or systems-level development teams
  • 7+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in C, Objective-C, or Swift
  • Proven track record of shipping complex software products and/or frameworks
  • Experience with concurrent programming and multi-threading
  • Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Open-minded, strong collaboration skills, pro-active mindset
  • Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Solid understanding of Apple development technologies including libdispatch, XPC
  • Excellent understanding of optimization and performance issues across OS software layers
  • Experience developing public or private APIs
