About the role

Be part of Apple’s Silicon Technologies group to design and manufacture next-generation, high-performance, power-efficient processors and SoCs. Develop and maintain regression-testing software for Apple’s silicon designs, work with EDA vendors, and help ensure tapes-out of world-class silicon.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance an existing system for regressing RTL
  • Debug vendor tool problems
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance software systems for regression-testing Apple’s silicon designs in software simulation
  • Report defects in chip designs and support DV and chip design engineering efforts
  • Guide engineers who come to you with problems
  • Work closely with EDA vendors to incorporate new capabilities of their commercial tools and resolve problems
  • Contribute to the design of next-generation regression systems

Qualifications

  • BS degree + 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing an existing system for regressing RTL
  • Experience debugging vendor tool problems
  • Python programming background
  • Experience with TCL or Perl is a plus
  • Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Experience with interacting with DV teams to solve problems
  • Experience implementing new functionality to solve emerging problems or optimize existing methods
  • MSEE/CE/CS preferred
  • Knowledge in Verilog and SystemVerilog; familiarity with VHDL a plus
  • Experience with VCS, XCelium, or Modelsim
  • Experience with Cadence or Synopsys Emulation tools
  • Good communications skills; customer support experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with Verdi and/or Indago is a plus
  • Knowledge of C and C++ is a plus
