About the role

Senior software engineer role focusing on designing and developing highly scalable distributed services, leveraging applied machine learning and generative AI. Build global-scale security, privacy, and behavior-learning solutions, handling large data volumes with cryptographic privacy protocols, NoSQL, ML, and big data. Collaboration with engineering teams and business partners across Apple.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of scalable, distributed systems.
  • Build global scale security solutions in Security, Behaviour learning, Privacy, and related areas.
  • Develop full stack solutions handling extremely large volumes of critical data using Cryptographic Privacy Protocols, NoSQL, Machine Learning, Big Data, and emerging technologies.
  • Hands-on coding, building and tuning highly scalable, distributed services.
  • Work with engineering teams and business partners across Apple to deliver innovative security/privacy solutions.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in cloud technologies (AWS or GCP), Docker and Kubernetes, and Microservices.
  • Solid understanding of applied Machine Learning, deep Learning (including LLMs), NLP and running ML tasks on cloud compute.
  • Expertise in tuning, profiling, and optimizing polyglot applications (Java, Rust, Swift on Server).
  • Knowledge of Relational and NoSQL Databases, and Microservices.
  • Demonstrated success mentoring junior engineers.
  • Experience with Privacy enabling technologies to deliver solutions.
  • Experience with monitoring deployed solutions for performance, drift, and SLOs.
  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
