About the role

HFC Research Advisor role to apply academic and professional expertise to help develop strategy, design, evaluate, and interpret advanced generative AI systems, collaborating with Scale AI and the Human Frontier Collective to advance responsible AI research and high-impact initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Senior Advisory & Model Governance: Provide elite-level consultancy and leadership on model behavior and domain-specific logic, establishing the benchmarks for professional integrity.
  • High-Impact Research Collaboration: Influence the technical roadmap by partnering across Scale AI's product, research, delivery, and GTM teams to design sophisticated, small-scale tasks that translate expert-level intuition into rigorous, computable frameworks for frontier model evaluation.
  • Executive Client Engagement: Represent Scale AI and the HFC as a Subject Matter Expert during pivotal sales cycles, executive meetings, and conferences
  • Visionary Creation: Contribute to the creation of premier technical content and strategic GTM assets that position Scale as the definitive leader in the industry.
  • Publications: Collaborate with Scale’s research team to co-author technical reports and research papers (e.g., SciPredict, PropensityBench, Professional Reasoning Benchmark)
  • HFC Community: Become a foundational member of HFC and engage with a global network of AI researchers and innovators that advances data frontier work

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience with strong, top-tier domain knowledge
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, MD/DO, or JD degree with significant clinical, legal, or financial practice experience
  • Demonstrated research experience, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and technologies
  • Keen interest in interdisciplinary AI applications
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, collaborative mindset with a passion for applied AI research
