About the role

Infer is building the operating system for insurance agencies and is hiring its first US Forward Deployed Engineer to own customer deployments end to end, integrating with agency systems and turning real-world workflows into production AI agents.

Responsibilities

  • Own deployments from scope to go-live with agency owners and ops leads
  • Build connections into existing agency systems and get AI agents handling real calls
  • Extract tribal knowledge from agencies and turn it into system design and usable components
  • Ship improvements such as prompt changes, tool fixes, or new eval cases
  • Diagnose and resolve customer issues and deliver small customizations to fit agency operations
  • Identify and scope second use cases within accounts and drive adoption across products
  • Develop reusable connectors and platform improvements to speed deployments

Qualifications

  • Engineering chops with at least 2 years shipping production code
  • Fluent in Python
  • Experience with APIs and multi-system integrations
  • Familiarity with voice or telephony stacks (Twilio or similar) is a strong plus
  • Production AI experience shipping AI applications to real users and designing evals
  • Comfort with messy systems and undocumented endpoints
  • Customer-facing communication skills and ability to translate tribal knowledge into design
  • Willingness to travel (on-site deployments)
