About the role

Nebius is building next-generation data center infrastructure across the United States to support high-density, GPU-driven workloads. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the design, review, and technical development of mechanical systems for data centers across the US portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Review mechanical design packages for data center projects, including internal concepts and third-party partner designs.
  • Support mechanical design development for high-density data center environments.
  • Evaluate mechanical design options for air-cooled and liquid-cooled data center architectures.
  • Coordinate closely with electrical design, construction, commissioning, and operations stakeholders.
  • Review designs for maintainability, operational resilience, capacity, and alignment with Nebius standards.
  • Help assess technical tradeoffs, alternative solutions, product options, and design risks.
  • Support design reviews tied to power density, airflow, cooling capacity, and operational readiness.

Qualifications

  • Data center mechanical design experience.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems in mission-critical or data center environments.
  • Experience with air-cooled data center design.
  • Ability to evaluate mechanical capacity, flows, and design assumptions.
  • Ability to review design documents, technical proposals, and partner deliverables.
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts, design requirements, and technical standards.
  • Strong communication skills with internal stakeholders, external design partners, and construction teams.
  • Broad engineering ownership mindset; able to manage the full mechanical design scope rather than only a narrow specialty.
