About the role

Engineering Manager leading ML teams within SDS Core to advance perception, prediction, end-to-end driving models, ML infrastructure, and offboard training pipelines for production autonomous vehicle systems across multiple verticals (ADAS, trucking, mining).

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical direction across multiple ML workstreams (foundation model, shared backbone, task heads) to enable end-to-end driving across ADAS, trucking, and mining without per-vertical forks.
  • Lead rapid training and iteration cycles, delivering models into production vehicles on quarterly release cycles.
  • Work with OEM customers and program teams to translate vehicle constraints into model architectures and delivery plans.
  • Own offboard ML pipelines (training infrastructure, data curation, autolabel quality, evaluation systems) linking offboard metrics to on-vehicle outcomes.
  • Manage the full model lifecycle from prototype to embedded deployment, including training at scale, quantization, and device-specific optimizations with rigorous V&V for on-road use.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain engineers, shaping team structure, culture, and technical standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in deep learning with hands-on experience guiding teams in state-of-the-art ML development and deployment
  • 4+ years managing technically deep product development teams
  • Experience building ML training pipelines at scale (data management, distributed training, experiment tracking, model evaluation)
  • Track record deploying ML models to embedded/edge hardware including quantization, pruning, and device-specific optimizations
  • Strong software engineering in Python and C++, across training code to onboard inference
  • Experience managing architecture transitions while maintaining production reliability
