About the role

IT Systems Engineer II (Test) designs, deploys, and owns infrastructure enabling hardware testing, telemetry, and engineering operations across test facilities, bridging enterprise IT standards with specialized test-environment requirements to ensure deterministic, time-synchronized, and highly reliable infrastructure for active test programs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy infrastructure for test facilities, including rack layouts, MDF/IDF architecture, and fiber distribution
  • Lead infrastructure projects for test stand deployments, relocations, and facility expansions
  • Plan and manage scalable, redundant, and high-capacity network architectures
  • Design and operate deterministic test networks with IEEE-1588 PTP and NTP synchronization
  • Troubleshoot latency, packet loss, and timing issues affecting telemetry and control systems
  • Engineer and maintain servers, virtualization platforms, storage, and hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure
  • Implement backup, recovery, and infrastructure lifecycle management strategies
  • Develop automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions to improve provisioning and test readiness
  • Support CI/CD integration and collaborate with Test and Automation Engineering teams during live operations
  • Ensure infrastructure security, segmentation, compliance, and alignment with zero-trust and enterprise IT standards

Qualifications

  • Strong networking expertise including switching, routing, VLANs, and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting time-synchronized systems (PTP/NTP)
  • Experience designing physical infrastructure and facility network deployments
  • Administration experience with Linux and Windows systems
  • Cisco or equivalent enterprise networking experience
