About the role

Leads a multi-disciplinary team to drive the technical and experiential delivery of Apple New Product Introduction in Apple Retail Stores, while assessing emerging technology and delivering proof of concepts to scale across global Retail stores.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-discipline team of product managers, experience strategists, and technical architects
  • Direct the end-to-end technology and experience approach for Apple New Product Introduction in Retail Stores (ideation to prototyping to development and delivery)
  • Establish and lead two distinct teams: one for New Product Introduction and one for evaluating nascent technologies with proof-of-concept testing and clear recommendations
  • Create, socialize, and manage reusable frameworks for technology evaluations, PoC testing, and sourcing tests
  • Manage and prioritize backlog of emerging technology explorations aligned to business strategy
  • Source, manage, and deliver PoC tests with clear outcomes and recommended actions
  • Collaborate with internal teams (hardware, software/OS, marketing, commercial, channels) to deliver cohesive Apple Retail experiences
  • Lead hiring, resource planning, coaching, performance management, and career development for the team
  • Be the Retail Technology expert on emerging technologies applicable to Apple Retail Stores
  • Deliver full Retail Technology experiences supporting New Product Introductions and other special projects

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in Product Management or Architecture in a retail, e-commerce, and/or customer experience function
  • 7+ years of direct people management, hiring, developing, and managing a team of individual contributors
  • Proven ability to stand up a net new function and team within an existing organization
  • Proven ability to design and assess PoC tests with expertise in innovation and emerging technologies in Retail and Consumer domains
  • Experience navigating matrixed organizations and collaborating with business and engineering teams to deliver scalable experiences
  • Experience creating artifacts such as data and systems diagrams, product market fit evaluations, prototypes, composable architecture maps, detailed product requirements, executive presentations
  • Experience optimizing workflows, developing toolkits, and digital experiences using AI and/or ML
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior leadership and executives
  • Experience delivering experiences across global markets with localized nuance
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments at strategic and tactical levels
  • Proven leadership in establishing a new function within an existing team to deliver high-quality impact
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities
