About the role

The Component Engineering team identifies, documents, and releases efficient electrical components for Apple hardware products, acting as the domain expert to drive component selection, qualification, and sourcing during New Product Introduction (NPI) and throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • support New Product Introduction (NPI) by developing and qualifying new components
  • track vendor roadmaps and suggest alternate component solutions
  • negotiate/document/release technical specifications
  • locate and qualify new potential component suppliers
  • evaluate issues and risks to the project
  • coordinate and track all component root cause failure analysis and implement corrective action
  • conduct commodity research to identify supply chain opportunities

Qualifications

  • BSEE required
  • good understanding/working knowledge of electrical components (passives, FETs, memory, regulators, etc.)
  • 1-3 years of industry experience in an electrical engineering role or at least 1 internship
  • ability to multi-task and stay on schedule
  • solutions initiator
  • strong communication skills, both written and oral
