About the role

Wallet Engineering team seeks proactive software engineers to build features for Wallet, Apple Pay, and related financial/personal identity products (Transit, Access, Identity, Provisioning, and Core Wallet Experience). Work spans UI, background processing, networking, and framework development used by internal teams and third-party developers. Focus on delivering high performance, private, and polished user experiences at global scale.

Responsibilities

  • As an engineer on our team, your responsibilities will range from high-level user interfaces to writing background processing and networking code, to developing frameworks used by other teams at Apple and third-party developers.
  • We collaborate closely with the other iOS engineering teams, human interface designers, diverse groups across Apple, and our partners at other companies.
  • You will tackle unique technical challenges at a global scale, delivering innovative solutions for millions of users while maintaining performance and privacy standards.
  • Deliver the best possible application performance, including fast launch times and smooth scrolling.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of strong programming skills, preferably with Swift and/or Objective-C
  • 5+ years of user-interface programming experience
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
  • Passion for product quality and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle dynamic project priorities
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, performance optimization, and memory management across OS software layers
  • Experience developing on iOS, macOS, and/or watchOS
  • Experience incorporating AI tools into the development process
