About the role

First Industrial Designer on Applied Intuition’s design team focused on understanding and solving complex workflows of users (software engineers developing autonomous machines) with collaboration across PM, Eng, and BD.

Responsibilities

  • Develop design themes for hardware concepts from sketch, prototype, to production
  • Build and iterate physical prototypes to inform product architecture with human factors in mind
  • Work quickly to ship new features in 5 week release cycles
  • Create and communicate design intent through sketches, CAD, prototypes, CMF strategy and design documentation
  • Collaborate closely with PM, Eng, and BD for highly technical and complex engineering challenges

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of Industrial design experience
  • Prototyped and developed hardware for software in fast-paced, technical environments
  • Keen sense of human factors
  • Ability to take complex engineering constraints and make user-friendly and intuitive designs
  • Strong ability to hit the ground running with incomplete feature scopes and fragmented information
  • Bachelor in Human-Computer Interaction, or related design field
