About the role

Advanced Manufacturing Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and scaling high precision assembly and measurement manufacturing systems, leading R&D of novel automation technologies, and collaborating with global manufacturing partners to improve quality, reliability, and production efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Automation Design for Manufacturability: Provide early and ongoing automation & manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufacturable and repeatable. Include machine DFM review, set up SOP document creation and FAT/SAT automation line qualification standard.
  • Product Engineering: Works all phases of a product from concept, to repeat automation manufacturing, to end of life. Provides production support engineering with respect to technically sophisticated testing methods, procedures and failure analysis. Include Geometry Dimensional & Tolerance Analysis knowledge. Enable the product design assembly via fully automation development.
  • Process Engineering: Designs and develops technically complex processes to improve product quality and automation equipment efficiency. Include machine/process parameter set up skills. Understood several automation manufacturing processes such as glue dispense, laser welding, etching, active alignment, etc.
  • Failure/Data Analysis/Validation Result: Plans, develops, and implements technically complex procedures for the testing and evaluation of soon to be released products. Specifies tests to be performed, compiles data, and makes recommendations for product design changes and final assembly standards. This will include the use of FACAVR, DOE and statistical analysis using Six Sigma & Monte Carlo tool principles.
  • Responsible for warehouse automation process development across all APAC distribution centre.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering fields
  • Minimum 3 years experience in automation equipment design, machine qualifications (DFM review), and advanced manufacturing process
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a global environment and operate independently under pressure
  • Knowledge of optics principles as they relate to CCD cameras, 3D, 2D and 1D lasers, and their use for positioning and critical alignment fixtures
  • Understanding of glue adhesive dispense, PSAs and VHBs, or coils winding processes, sensing camera processes, glass or lens lamination processes
  • Understanding of pneumatics, servo motors, 4-axis and 6-axis robots, PLC and PC-based control systems
  • Understand and create tolerance analysis stack ups for assemblies and part level datums reference
  • Understanding of AVI, automation visual inspection technology, include HW/SW/Vision development
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles
  • Understanding of X2, NX4, Validated Work, CAD, JMP, Minitab, and Six Sigma
  • A passion and dedication in cost reduction, project management and automation engineering design
  • Knowledge of AI technology or machine learning, adapt to automation development working principle
  • Vietnamese and Mandarin language skills are highly preferred
