About the role

Join Apple’s Silicon Technologies group to design, validate, and integrate graphics and GPU-related software for the next-generation SoC. Develop graphics validation software, stress GPU pipelines, and validate SoC software and hardware in system-level test environments.

Responsibilities

  • Write shaders that stress the GPU and cause high bandwidth traffic to/from the memory subsystem.
  • Apply understanding of GPU architecture to write tests that stress the pipeline and interactions between the GPU and different IP blocks on the SoC.
  • Use driver and firmware APIs to compile shaders and prime operations to move data around in the SoC using GPU threads/SIMD groups.
  • Understand the GPU memory hierarchy (Shared, Global, etc.).
  • Debug SoC software and hardware issues, and perform system level validation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in silicon validation software engineering or related field
  • Experienced with Graphics, OpenGL, and CUDA
  • Understanding of the GPU pipeline and graphics theory
  • Understanding of system and SoC architectures
  • Experienced with image processing, memory hierarchies, and compilers
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Implement and run ML/LLM workloads for GPU characterization
  • Proficient in Python and GNU Make
  • Deep understanding of compute systems, operating systems, and computer architecture
  • Passionate about writing code close to the hardware, and debugging
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in SoC system level validation and debugging of SoC software and hardware issues
  • Meticulous, curious, and persistent validation mindset
