About the role

Lead a team within Apple’s Supply Chain Innovation to design and deliver end-to-end, scalable graph-based software solutions for supply chain needs, including planning, product distribution, and related areas. Lead projects, mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and drive innovation while ensuring reliability, performance, and security.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize highly scalable, distributed systems using cloud-native technologies and microservices architecture.
  • Lead proof-of-concept projects and pilot implementations.
  • Improve system reliability, performance, and security.
  • Contribute to design and code reviews and assist in debugging and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to solution and architectural design reviews.
  • Develop system components and ensure timely delivery, quality, and performance.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, QA, support teams, and end users.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of engineers, fostering innovation and excellence.
  • Tackle complex technical challenges, drive innovation, and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies.
  • Manage and collaborate with contractors.
  • Multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possibly handle application production (warranty) support.
  • Occasional team leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering, database design, or software development.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, backend development, or database design.
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with Neo4j (designing graph models, writing Cypher queries, performance tuning).
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with APIs, microservices, and data integration frameworks.
  • Understanding of graph theory concepts (nodes, relationships, traversals, centrality algorithms).
  • Familiarity with Neo4j Bloom, GraphQL for Neo4j, or GDS (Graph Data Science) library.
  • Experience with cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of data modeling, ETL pipelines, and NoSQL/SQL databases.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
