About the role

Silicon Technologies group role focused on designing, validating, and integrating graphics validation software for a high-performance SoC. Responsible for writing GPU-stressing shaders, validating GPU-IP interactions within the system, and performing system-level validation of SoC software and hardware issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop graphics validation software and integrate it into system level test environment
  • Write shaders that stress the GPU and cause high bandwidth traffic to and from the memory subsystem
  • Apply deep understanding of GPU architecture to write tests that stress the pipeline and exercise interaction between GPU and different IP blocks on the SoC
  • Use driver and firmware APIs to compile shaders and prime data movement in the SoC using GPU threads/SIMD groups
  • Understand GPU memory hierarchy (Shared, Global, etc.)
  • Debug SoC software and hardware issues, and perform system level validation
  • Collaborate with a team of software engineers with diverse backgrounds (graphics, video processing, file systems, CPUs, kernel programming, embedded systems) to validate and integrate graphics validation solutions

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience in silicon validation software engineering or related field
  • Experienced with Graphics, OpenGL, and CUDA
  • Understanding of the GPU pipeline and graphics theory
  • Understanding of system and SoC architectures
  • Experienced with image processing, memory hierarchies, and compilers
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills
  • Implement and run ML/LLM workloads for GPU characterization
  • Proficient in Python and GNU Make
  • Deep understanding of compute systems, operating systems, and computer architecture
  • Passionate about writing code close to the hardware, and debugging
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in SoC system level validation and debugging of SoC software and hardware issues
  • Meticulous, curious, and persistent validation mindset
