About the role

Research-focused role in foundational AI/ML, emphasizing long-term curiosity-driven projects on LLMs, generative foundation models, and agentic systems. Collaborate with ML engineers and researchers, publish results, and mentor peers while contributing to Apple products through applied and theoretical work.

Responsibilities

  • Propose and execute a research plan to advance understanding of machine learning through implementation and experimentation in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members.
  • Prepare technical reports, conference papers, and talks for publication and presentation.
  • Collaborate with broader teams across Apple.

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Demonstrated expertise in machine learning research.
  • Publication record in relevant conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ACL, EMNLP, etc).
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning toolkits such as JAX, PyTorch or MLX, and exposure to RL and agentic tools
  • Strong mathematical skills in linear algebra and statistics.
  • Ability to formulate research problems, design experiments, implement solutions, and communicate results.
  • Ability to work in a diverse collaborative environment.
