About the role

Internship opportunity with Apple’s Hardware Technology team focusing on breakthrough custom silicon and hardware technologies across Apple’s product lines. Mentorship from world-class engineers, collaboration with researchers, engineers, and program managers to design and implement innovative hardware/architecture solutions. Open to multiple sub-disciplines within hardware design, verification, and related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and program/project managers to tackle innovative challenges
  • Design and implement innovative solutions for meaningful problems in hardware/architecture domains
  • Learn new technologies quickly and develop practical skills through real-world projects
  • Possibly contribute across a range of hardware disciplines listed (e.g., Digital Design, Physical Design, Verification, CAD, Firmware, Platform Architecture, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, or related field of study
  • At internship end, must return to school or internship must be the last requirement for graduation
  • Previous internship or project work in computer architecture, VLSI, design, logic design, or circuit design
  • Understanding of formal methods or verification
  • Camera/touch/display engineering experience or related validation/experiments understanding
  • Strong teamwork skills with ability to collaborate across multiple functional teams
  • Experience with C/C++, Verilog, VHDL, Python, Perl, Spice is beneficial
  • Experience with Timing, Synthesis, Ansys, COMSOL
