Roles span Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE), Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE), and general Operations responsibilities. Opportunities to work with product design teams, suppliers, and internal partners to improve manufacturability, quality, cost, and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Understand selection, implementation and optimization of manufacturing processes for mechanical enclosure subassemblies for our legendary products
- Review product features for manufacturability, and suggest processes and equipment
- Explore new manufacturing processes to enable future product design and conducting design of experiments to validate process capability
- Work with global supplier managers to identify capable suppliers, and understand their processes for capacity, quality and cost
- Work with suppliers to develop and refine mechanical tooling, fixtures and establish capability and readiness
- Assist post production quality and cost improvement activity related to fixtures and processes
- Utilize engineering, factory management and supply chain skills to develop high efficiency inspection equipment and quality systems
- Help create state of the art inspection and measurement equipment for Apple products
- Apply understanding of quality control and manufacturing concepts to product quality plans (PQP)
- Support studies to improve measuring methods and coordinate quality engineering for multiple programs
- Collaborate with internal and external groups to define quality expectations and assurance techniques
- Support supplier quality activities including supplier selection for new products and sourcing
- Take part in strategic projects with the Product Operations team
- Demonstrate ownership, autonomy, and strong relationship-building with internal and external partners
