About the role

ML Researcher role focusing on cutting-edge generative modeling pipelines for diverse international languages, joining Apple Intelligence. Responsibilities include end-to-end generative modeling from data preprocessing to deployment, with emphasis on multilingual NLP, safety-controlled text generation, and language-diverse applications for popular international languages.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Innovation in Generative Modeling: Focus exclusively on building and optimizing generative models for international languages.
  • Full-Stack Language Expertise: Own the entire generative modeling pipeline, from data preprocessing and model architecture design to training, evaluation, and deployment.
  • Language Diversity: Prioritize working with a variety of popular international languages, ensuring models are culturally and linguistically adaptable.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of machine learning expertise.
  • Strong programming in OOPS/C/C++/Objective C/Swift and Python.
  • Good exposure to Deep Learning libraries like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Thorough experience with NLP algorithms and applications (tokenisation, language modelling, text decoding, text classifier, etc.).
  • Proven experience navigating and contributing to large-scale codebases with emphasis on quality, maintainability, and test coverage.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Copilot, or equivalent).
  • Full-stack expertise across the whole generative modeling pipeline with solid software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with optimization, loss functions, distributed training/inference, model compression benchmarking.
  • Proficiency in writing high-quality, scalable code across large repos, with emphasis on pipeline automation and API integration.
  • Experience with multi-modal modeling; ability to present plans and demos concisely.
  • NLP modeling experience for Indian languages is desirable.
  • Strong problem solving, results-oriented mindset, effective communication and drive for excellence.
