About the role

Apple is seeking a project management expert within the IS&T Retail Engineering organization to own large, complex initiatives that shape the development of software and hardware solutions for Apple’s online and physical store experiences. The role focuses on defining and executing strategies that align cross-functional teams, navigating ambiguous business challenges, and delivering scalable solutions to support the platform’s long-term success.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership for the success of your projects, steering them from concept to launch with laser focus on execution.
  • Confidently navigate multifaceted environments, building strong relationships and smoothly resolving conflicts.
  • Work seamlessly with engineers, product owners, and strategic partners, ensuring everyone is aligned and informed.
  • Efficiently manage resources, monitor timelines, and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain a relentless focus on execution, ensuring timely and successful delivery while paying meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in engineering project management
  • Experience in software development life cycle methodologies
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to drive multi-year, multi-team programs that require both customer and technical focus.
  • Experience leading customer-facing software initiatives, balancing business objectives, customer impact, and engineering constraints.
  • Experience with enterprise-scale software development lifecycles, including launch strategies, compliance, and operational scaling.
  • Experience successfully completing and delivering projects using an Agile methodology.
  • Experience managing cross-org dependencies across multiple engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Proficiency in setting up governance models, decision-making frameworks, and program health metrics.
  • Ability to drive consistency in execution across different teams, priorities, and timelines.
  • Proven track record of influencing at all levels, from engineers to C-suite executives, through clear and compelling written and verbal communication.
  • Experience handling multi-functional trade-offs, ensuring collaboration rather than friction across engineering, product, and design teams.
  • Strong facilitation and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize across competing workstreams and lead teams to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience managing program budgets and forecasting resource needs across multi-team initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of engineering workflows and architectural trade-offs, including highly available, distributed, and scalable enterprise systems, even if not hands-on coding.
  • Familiarity with scalable architectures, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and software development best practices.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with frequent change and evolving priorities.
  • PMP or Scrum Master certification preferred.
