About the role

Role focused on defining next-gen architecture for Apple Vision products, including prototyping, hardware & silicon definition, software & algorithm development, hands-on characterization, and concept demos to executives. Responsible for comparing display and optics technologies, defining architecture and specs for new display technologies, and promoting innovation to improve display performance and user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Compare and scope display and optics technologies, analyze trade-offs between performance, manufacturability and cost
  • Define architecture for new display technologies with understanding of system requirements, display & optical behavior, human perception
  • Define detailed specs including the display panel, driving ASICs, software/firmware algorithms and test/calibration procedures
  • Promote innovation and new technology to improve Apple's display performance and user experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (minimum)
  • 3+ years of relevant proven experience
  • Experience in display backplane design, display pipeline, image processing, digital signal processing, and/or display architecture electrical and optical modeling
  • Good communication and leadership skills, with experience collaborating across internal and vendors teams
  • Capability in theoretical analysis, system characterization and modeling
  • Hands-on experimental ability with prototyping experience
  • Experience in optics, device physics, or machine learning is a plus
