About the role

AI Software Engineer role at AMD focused on enabling and optimizing software for Instinct GPUs in on-prem and cloud environments, with emphasis on DL model support, performance optimization, and collaboration across AI software stack.

Responsibilities

  • Enable DL models, libraries, and applications for Instinct GPUs in on-prem and Cloud environments.
  • Analyze and optimize performance of AI software; understand hardware bottlenecks and push toward roofline performance.
  • Work with a team of software engineers to push efficiency and performance for AI software ecosystems on next-generation GPUs.
  • Collaborate with industry clients to leverage hardware capabilities for AI use cases.
  • Contribute to software development across the AI software stack, including libraries, frameworks, and SDKs.

Qualifications

  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python
  • Experience with at least one major DL framework in inference, fine-tuning, and/or training
  • MS with years of related experience or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related equivalent
  • Experience developing software and system-level performance optimizations with solid GPU architecture understanding
  • Experience with open-source software development and community contributions (a plus)
  • Publications in peer-reviewed ML conferences/journals (a plus)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to address performance issues
  • Ability to work independently and in a team; willingness to learn new tools and methods to improve AMD software quality
