About the role

Music Copyright Specialist analyzes YouTube content to identify unlicensed songs, remixes, and soundtracks, places precise claims, and protects artists’ rights while staying current with trends in digital music and rights management.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and claim client assets in YouTube videos using aural skills and place precise claims.
  • Ensure all actions align strictly with YouTube’s latest copyright policies and internal guidelines.
  • Deep-dive into music databases to verify composers and ownership.
  • Work closely with supervisors to report trends, catalog discrepancies, and claiming strategies.
  • Drive revenue accumulation through meticulous asset management.

Qualifications

  • GCE A/Ls or GCE O/Ls with a relevant certificate or diploma
  • 6 months to 1 year of working experience in preferably in music, or a related field
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in MS Office and G Suite
  • Extremely detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Excellent research and listening skills to identify music across various genres and formats
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for learning about digital rights
  • Flexible and comfortable with extended hours and long periods analyzing YouTube content
