About the role

Frontend RTL infrastructure CAD engineer role within Apple’s Silicon Technologies group. Focused on developing and supporting reliable infrastructure and work environments for RTL design and verification, gatekeeping, soft IP development, Perforce administration, centralized configuration management, and driving AI-enabled productivity across RTL projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support reliable infrastructure and work environments used by design and verification teams for modifying, analyzing, and verifying RTL
  • Support RTL gatekeeping infrastructure of design and verification collateral as well as soft IP development and release methodologies
  • Contribute to Perforce administration ensuring integrity and performance of the version control ecosystem
  • Maintain a centralized configuration management system enabling different design views to be loaded into Front-End flow
  • Drive innovation by building generative AI solutions across these systems to accelerate engineering productivity and improve infrastructure reliability
  • Manage internal training materials, keep them up to date, and coordinate vendor trainings for Designer/DV engineers
  • Promote and drive robust, scalable infrastructure solutions across RTL Design and DV teams within Apple’s HWTech organization
  • Help ensure the North Star vision: high-quality infrastructure and flows that enable Apple Silicon to produce chips for Apple’s best products
  • Collaborate with a motivated CAD team supporting Apple’s chip design efforts

Qualifications

  • Minimum of BS degree + 3 years of relevant experience
  • Expertise in programming in Python or Perl
  • Knowledge in Verilog and SystemVerilog
  • Experience with Front-End EDA tools such as Clock Domain Crossing, Reset Domain Crossing or Lint
  • Understanding of Front-End RTL Build or Construction flows
  • Excellent communication, debug and root causing skills
  • Customer-oriented mindset and support experience
  • Experience in contributing to large-scale software system development from specification to deployment
  • MSEE/CE/CS preferred
