About the role

Roles focused on manufacturing design and operations to deliver high-precision mechanical manufacturing processes for Apple’s worldwide supply base. Collaboration with Industrial Design, Product Design, and Global Supply Management to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing solutions for enclosures and related hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of high precision mechanical manufacturing processes across Apple’s worldwide supply base (Manufacturing Design Engineer role).
  • Collaborate with Apple Industrial Design, Product Design, Manufacturing Design partners, and worldwide suppliers.
  • Contribute to end-to-end manufacturing solutions for Apple's hardware enclosures, ensuring product quality, cost, yield, capacity, schedule, and environmental goals.
  • Manage and guide development activities within Apple’s Manufacturing Design group (Manufacturing Design Program Manager role).
  • Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods with a focus on scalable production.
  • Interface with core product development teams to ensure successful product launches and meeting cost, quality, schedule, availability, and customer experience goals (New Product Operations Program Manager).
  • Support software applications and systems that assist production from prototype to announcement and beyond (Software Engineer role).
  • Drive development of manufacturing processes and non-standard manufacturing solutions as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Lead tooling development for plastic injection and metal tooling to meet product performance and cosmetic requirements (Tooling Engineer).

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, quality, process development, program management or supply chain management
  • Ability to use data to solve problems and make products
  • Proven track record of delivering on challenging projects with tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to peers, stakeholders and leaders
  • BS IE, ME or applicable degree
