About the role

Role focused on driving material development for Apple Softgoods, including collaboration with design/manufacturing, material specification creation, data-driven process development, and supplier relationships. Emphasis on sustainability, fast-paced environment, and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product design and manufacturing teams on material selection, design, and manufacturing process development that meets performance, aesthetics, and other product requirements.
  • Creation of material specifications based on critical quality attributes for product design.
  • Utilize appropriate statistical and/or data analysis tools that translate these material critical attributes into a repeatable and capable manufacturing process.
  • Establish and manage relationships with manufacturers/suppliers to identify emerging technologies.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Textile Engineering, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in yarn and textile constructions preferred.
  • Strong polymer background
