About the role

Senior Staff Software Engineer leading the Manufacturing Software team responsible for vehicle integration test station infrastructure, firmware interface, and data-platform integration across global manufacturing. Systems-first, factory-floor-up leadership roles with emphasis on test stations, firmware collaboration, security, and production scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and own the test station software stack: operator-facing UI, test sequence orchestration, hardware instrument control, and data logging
  • Translate EE-defined test procedures into automated, repeatable test sequences for factory operators
  • Define the interface contract between test stations and production firmware — test modes, data needs, capabilities/limits
  • Design robust firmware update and recovery processes for production environments
  • Own device provisioning, certification, and security workflows at the factory: secure boot verification, key provisioning, certificate injection, serial number assignment, and factory configuration locking
  • Partner with contract manufacturers in Asia to deploy test stations, qualify the line, and debug production issues on the floor
  • Travel extensively to Taiwan/Asia during NPI and ramp for new vehicle programs
  • Establish test data pipelines, yield tracking, and reporting infrastructure for visibility into line health and process control
  • Drive continuous improvement in test throughput, coverage, and first-pass yield using data and analyses
  • Define interface contract with firmware team: test modes and diagnostic hooks the production FW image should expose; validate correct operation
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on execution in test station and firmware domains

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 6+ years in manufacturing test systems, ATE, or production software with shipped test stations at volume
  • Fluency in Python (or equivalent) for test automation, instrument control, and data processing
  • Experience with full factory test lifecycle: DFT analysis, ICT/FCT development, EOL sequence design, fixture collaboration, and sustaining
  • Applied statistical analysis of factory test data to drive process decisions
  • Strong systems design instincts for scalable test station frameworks
  • Ability to translate EE-defined test procedures into precise, automatable requirements and own requirements documents
  • Direct, on-site experience working with contract manufacturers and CM relationship management
  • Willingness to travel to Taiwan
  • Clear English communication; Mandarin/Taiwanese a plus
