About the role

Accenture Construct seeks a Project Control Manager with strong utility new gas generation project controls experience to lead and coach project controls specialists across full project lifecycles, ensuring cost, schedule, scope, risk, and change management alignment with client and Accenture standards. On-site role at client site in Woodlands, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate project controls expertise from Utility New Gas Generation projects and provide direct oversight, coaching, and support to Project Controls Specialists throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Integrate with and support the Project Management team to ensure successful execution of assigned projects.
  • Promote safe behavior and ensure adherence to all safety rules on the project.
  • Implement Accenture and client Project Management Standards in cost, schedule, scope, WBS, risk, and issues management to achieve on-time and within-budget results.
  • Ensure comprehensive project controls (cost, schedule, scope, risk) and validate contract and contractor execution align with controls requirements.
  • Perform rigorous, independent project assessments for Stage Gate Process (SGP) and PM standards compliance.
  • Conduct training on clients’ SGP, PM standards, implementation guides, and project controls disciplines (e.g., Quantitative Risk Analysis).
  • Assist in portfolio analysis, optimization, and reporting, including risk assessments aligned with multi-year budgets.
  • Prepare and maintain cost reports and forecasts with Cost Analysts; validate EAC and ECT forecasts; conduct contingency analyses.
  • Perform schedule analytics to evaluate schedule quality, progress, and contractor schedule compliance; report performance.
  • Collaborate with PMs and teams to identify, document, and mitigate risks; manage Change Management and track approved changes (office and field).
  • Provide SME-level PM, controls, and business case guidance to project team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management (or related field) OR 8 years equivalent/related work experience in lieu of a degree
  • 6 years minimum capital project controls experience on utility new gas generation projects or process industry (O&G, refining, chemicals, mining) projects of $300M or larger
  • Ability to perform field walkdown observations/inspection on foot across moderate to rough terrain and the ability to lift 25lbs overhead
  • Expert level proficiency with scheduling software packages, related analytics, spreadsheet analytics, and PM/CM fundamentals
  • More than ten years of substantial experience in both field and office settings, preferably in power generation, transmission and distribution, or nuclear projects
  • Ability to prepare thorough and accurate technical documentation with clear communication to diverse teams and leadership
  • Willing and able to work on-site at Woodlands office (onsite presence required)
