About the role

Founding senior scientist to develop, optimize, and automate chemoproteomics and surfaceomics workflows for a mass-spectrometry–based internalization platform; contribute to open science, data analysis pipelines, and long-term surfaceomics discovery strategies in a startup/academic-cellow collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize on-cell surface labeling workflows for MS-based internalization profiling (WGA-HRP and NHS-SS-biotin);
  • Execute time-course internalization experiments with pulse-chase labeling, surface-label removal, sample prep, MS, and quantitative analysis;
  • Collaborate on glycoprotein enrichment platform with MS colleagues;
  • Drive development of photocatalytic cell-surface labeling for frozen/ fixed human tissues;
  • Contribute to reproducible computational pipelines for proteomics quantification and AI-ready atlas data integration;
  • Document experimental methods, instrument performance, and QC metrics across batches;
  • Co-author open-access blog posts, open protocols, publications/white papers;
  • Shape long-term strategy for surfaceomics discovery and validation;
  • Lead platform development and potentially manage external CRO partnerships as the organization evolves;
  • Mentor and collaborate across disciplines to generate high-quality, AI-ready datasets;
  • Support open science by publishing work and enabling broad use by researchers and drug developers.

Qualifications

  • PhD in proteomics, chemical biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or related field with 2-8 years of postdoc experience (industry preferred);
  • Hands-on MS acquisition and analysis experience; proficiency with Spectronaut, DIA-NN, or equivalent; experience with downstream statistics and cross-cohort normalization;
  • Expertise in high-throughput enrichment proteomics sample prep workflows and automation; knowledge of controls for large cohorts and plate-based preps;
  • Strong cell culture skills and willingness to work hands-on at bench;
  • Proven ability to independently develop, optimize, and troubleshoot MS workflows; not just execute protocols.

About Deliverome Project

Targeted delivery has a bottleneck.

The Deliverome Project is building an open atlas of the human surfaceome — abundance, specificity, internalization, and routing — to scale targeted delivery beyond the liver.
