About the role
Join Cerebras Systems as a Physical Design Engineer to drive high-impact PPA strategy and own all disciplines of physical design from RTL to tapeout, collaborating with the RTL team to ensure blocks integrate into the full-chip architecture.
Responsibilities
- Drive high-impact PPA strategy—actively shaping power, performance, and area tradeoffs in collaboration with the RTL team.
- Own all disciplines of physical design and implementation from RTL to tapeout.
- Ensure blocks integrate seamlessly into the full-chip architecture.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of physical design & physical verification experience.
- Strong knowledge of block level and full-chip physical verification methodology.
- Strong experience in block/subsystem timing closure.
- Expert at optimizing for the best power/performance and area.
- Experience with the complete physical design flow.
- Expert with ICV or Calibre tools resolving block and full-chip DRC and LVS issues.
- Expert with IR/EM analysis and resolution.
- Strong background in STA, constraint drafting and timing convergence at block, partition and fullchip.
- Demonstrated ownership and deep-dive capability with solid PD fundamentals.
- Good understanding of full chip floor planning and integration.
- Strong scripting ability in Tcl and Python; ability to enhance flows.
- Demonstrated ability to work with RTL teams to optimize for physical design.
- Skills in Design Compiler, Fusion Compiler, ICC2 or similar PD tools.
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
