About the role

Hardware Electrical Engineer role focused on integrating sensing module technology into Apple products by coordinating factory builds, onsite support, system bring-up, testing, and cross-functional collaboration to meet specifications leading up to Mass Production.

Responsibilities

  • Providing critical on-site support for factory builds during early prototype and engineering build phases
  • Coordinate factory vendor activities and manage factory vendor team deliverables
  • System bring-up, characterization, testing and validation
  • System-level problem solving - failure analysis, root cause & corrective action proposal
  • Debug test sequences on automated test equipment
  • Use scripting skills to automate data collection process and extract key information from data analysis
  • Design of Experiments (DOE) creation, execution and data analysis
  • Write technical documentation (eg. requirements, specifications and test plans)
  • Review and analyze build data to inform critical program decisions with detailed build reports and presentations
  • Frequent business travel up to or exceeding 50% (primarily within India, to a lesser extent USA)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of industry experience
  • Solid fundamentals in both analog and digital circuits; strong problem solving
  • Design experience in power electronics, board design, signal integrity, DSP, and microcontrollers
  • Fundamental knowledge of LRA, VCM, and audio/speaker technologies
  • Familiar with USB, SPI, I2S, I2C and UART; low power systems
  • Hands-on prototype bring-up, debugging, and functional verification
  • Familiar with lab equipment (signal generators, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers)
  • Experience with high volume product design and manufacturing and statistical production tolerance analysis
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment; strong communication in English and Hindi
  • Team player who can work independently and drive tasks with minimal supervision
  • Frequent travel within India based on project requirements and build schedules
  • MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of industry experience
  • Knowledge in mechatronics and electromagnetism preferred; background in haptics, acoustics, or vibrations advantageous
  • System level integration experience with cross-functional teams (Product Design, SW, Test)
  • Direct coding experience in Python, Matlab and C would be a plus
  • Good understanding of Gauge R&R methodology would be a plus
