About the role
Founding Engineer role at Tekton Dynamics, an YC-backed startup building AI-powered control layer for industrial robots (starting with welding). In-person, London lab, early-stage team member with broad responsibilities across software, hardware, and AI.
Responsibilities
- Researching, planning, and developing systems and software across the engineering stack
- Designing, building, and maintaining core systems that fuse software, hardware and networks
- Installing vision sensors, industrial robots, and welding equipment in the R&D lab and customer facilities
- Involvement across industrial workflows, perception, robot control and command, and systems/hardware integration
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary product engineering team
- Debugging edge networks, hardware calibration, and sim-to-real gaps
- Communicating and building trust with customers
Qualifications
- 3+ years shipping software in highly technical startup environments
- T-shaped systems and software generalist
- Designed, built and deployed software as part of an engineering team
- Comfortable debugging in environments involving edge networks, hardware calibration, and sim-to-real gaps
- Proven team player with strong communication and first-principles thinking
