About the role

Role within the Group Finance team evaluating strategic and operational investment decisions, building financial models, forecasting cashflow, and providing evidence-based recommendations to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, own, and continuously refine financial models for business cases, investment proposals, and strategic initiatives across the Group.
  • Build scenario, sensitivity, and Monte Carlo analyses to quantify risk and opportunity.
  • Translate complex financial and operational assumptions into auditable model structures for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, including ROI, IRR, NPV, and payback analysis across short- and long-term horizons.
  • Work with limited direction and determine the analytical approach for each investment question.
  • Build and maintain detailed cashflow models integrating operating, investing, and financing activities at project and Group levels.
  • Develop long-term (multi-year) cashflow forecasts with capex,working capital dynamics.
  • Model cashflow sensitivity to key assumptions to support liquidity planning and covenant monitoring.
  • Analyse forecast vs. actual cashflow variances and provide actionable insights to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Quantify cashflow impact of proposed investments, including funding requirements and payback timelines.
  • Support treasury and corporate finance with cashflow projections for debt facility negotiations and investor communications.
  • Integrate financial and non-financial data sources to form a holistic view of investment performance.
  • Identify data gaps and collaborate with Finance, Data Engineering, and BI teams to improve data inputs.
  • Monitor investments post-close and provide variance commentary.
  • Develop insight-led reporting for leadership audiences.
  • Support FP&A in long-range planning, integrating investment pipeline with Group P&L and cashflow forecasts.
  • Prepare P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow impacts of proposed investments.
  • Contribute to scenario planning and stress-testing for annual budget and strategic plan.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and the Executive team.
  • Act as a trusted financial partner to business unit heads and challenge assumptions.
  • Collaborate with Finance BPs, Legal, Strategy, and Operations to scope investments and ground assumptions.
  • Prepare materials for Investment Committee and Board reviews.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment analysis, or management consulting.
  • Proven track record building complex, multi-driver financial models from scratch in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Demonstrated experience constructing cashflow models and forecasts including working capital movements and capex scheduling.
  • Strong understanding of investment appraisal techniques (NPV, IRR, payback) and financial statement mechanics (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and manage multiple workstreams.
  • Experience synthesising financial and non-financial data to produce actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate analytical output into strategic context.
