About the role

Role within AMD's Data Center Product Application Engineering team supporting EPYC Server Processors across Cloud, Enterprise, HPC and Sovereign AI segments. Direct customer engagement to deploy and validate AMD EPYC CPUs in data centers, developing guidelines and materials, and driving cross-functional collaboration to close gaps between customer needs and AMD offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage technical interaction with AMD’s key customers to enable deployment of AMD EPYC CPU in customer systems.
  • Support customers in the bring-up and validation of AMD EPYC CPUs in their system, guide customers on use of AMD tools, qualification test methods, and analysis of test results.
  • Lead the debug of customer-reported issues (hardware, firmware), working with a cross-functional team and driving the root cause investigation.
  • Work with customers on the development of manufacturing/screen tests to ensure reliability at scale.
  • Understand customer requirements and schedule, identify gaps in AMD offering and work with other stakeholders to close them.
  • Author design guidelines, technical presentations, and training material.
  • Provide recommendations to improve customer experience with our SW and HW.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or related equivalent
  • Experience in customer-facing roles such as application engineering for Data Center CPU (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge in server and data center system architecture and interfaces, and standards such as DDR, PCIe, SPI/eSPI, I3C/I2C (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge in electrical validation and signal integrity of high speed signals (preferred)
  • System Level debugging skills with hands-on experience in system bring-up, HW debug, and performance optimizations (preferred)
  • Understanding and experience with Enterprise Linux environments (Ubuntu, CentOS/RHEL, SLES) (preferred)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (preferred)
  • Experience or knowledge of server firmware/BIOS settings, boot process, server monitoring and management software (preferred)
  • Experience in Data Center system design, server design (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Shell/BASH, C/C++, Python or similar (preferred)
