About the role

Senior data scientist role building supply chain planning science capability from scratch, focusing on demand forecasting, inventory placement, vendor performance modelling, and AI-native forecasting through an end-to-end, production-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Modelling Workstreams: own a meaningful slice of the science roadmap (e.g., demand forecasting for a product category, vendor performance modelling, inventory placement optimization, or raw material signal generation); run rigorous, well-documented experiments; apply classical, ML, and AI-driven approaches within a tournament framework.
  • AI-Native Science: use LLM-aided EDA, agentic feature discovery, and AI-augmented experiment design; contribute to evaluation standards for AI-driven forecasting and OR models.
  • Production Discipline: ship models into production; own deployment, monitoring, and iteration loop; collaborate with Planning Tools engineering on platform exposure (feature stores, evaluation harnesses, model registry).
  • Business Partnership: work with planning operators to translate operational reality into modelling problems and translate outputs into actionable decisions; communicate limitations and influence roadmap

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of applied data science or operations research experience with a track record of shipping models that moved business metrics
  • Real depth in forecasting methodology (statistical, ML, and AI-driven) with informed opinions on when to use which
  • Substantive experience in at least one OR domain: inventory optimization, vendor lead-time modelling, transportation mode selection, or equivalent
  • Engineering fluency to own end-to-end work: feature pipelines, experiments, model serving
  • AI-native science practice (LLM-aided EDA, agentic feature discovery, AI-augmented experimentation) with examples of trusting or overriding AI output
