About the role

Senior-level frontend-focused engineering leader responsible for architectural vision, frontend excellence, and organizational enablement across Hims & Hers’ customer-facing frontend systems.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Vision & Strategy: Define and evolve the architectural vision for customer-facing frontend systems, lead cross-org initiatives for long-term scale and foundational UI capabilities.
  • Frontend Excellence & Performance: Drive fast, accessible, and visually polished experiences; champion UI performance, accessibility, and responsiveness.
  • Technical Leadership & Governance: Establish patterns and frameworks for quality, resilience, and observability; set frontend design standards.
  • Org-Wide Enablement & Collaboration: Shape product direction with engineering and product leadership; promote shared architectural patterns and scalable frontend practices.
  • Mentorship & Talent Growth: Mentor senior technical leaders and engineers; participate in product discovery sessions with prototypes and experiments.
  • Ambiguity Navigation & Execution Acceleration: Lead through complexity, remove blockers, and accelerate delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • Customer-Centric Engineering: Translate customer needs into scalable technical solutions; use performance metrics and feedback to guide direction.
  • Sustainability & Scalability: Design systems and boundaries to support growth; invest in observability, migrations, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of professional software engineering experience with group-level technical leadership.
  • Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks and libraries (React, Next.js, GraphQL) with production-grade experience delivering high-performance web experiences at scale.
  • Full-stack capability with backend proficiency in Node.js and Python.
  • Deep expertise in UI performance, web accessibility, and responsive design.
  • Experience introducing and scaling shared frontend infrastructure, component libraries, or design systems across multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive architectural clarity and strategic technical alignment across functions.
  • Experience translating customer and product needs into reliable, maintainable, high-impact technical solutions.
  • Track record of improving developer experience, team velocity, and system sustainability.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to influence across stakeholders.
  • Comfort navigating high ambiguity and enabling effective execution in evolving environments.
