About the role

AXION is building brain-computer interface technology to enable hands-free interaction with devices, starting with AXION Click which uses eye-tracking and Stimulus Preceding Negativity (SPN) signals. The role involves creating the entire user experience for AXION Click from onboarding to daily use, designing novel interaction patterns for a brain-computer interface, and collaborating with software, hardware, and ML teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end user experiences for AXION Click, including onboarding flows, core interactions, and the companion app
  • Develop novel interaction patterns for a brain-computer interface
  • Conduct user research and usability testing and translate insights into design decisions
  • Create high-fidelity UI mockups and interactive prototypes in Figma
  • Build clickable demos and prototypes to validate concepts quickly
  • Partner closely with software, hardware, and ML teams
  • Iterate rapidly based on user feedback and field data

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional interaction design experience shipping real products
  • Strong Figma skills — move quickly from rough concept to polished, developer-ready mockups
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing, and using findings to drive design decisions
  • Ability to build interactive prototypes to test and communicate ideas
  • Deep care for end users and willingness to spend meaningful time understanding their world
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego approach in a fast-moving startup environment
