About the role

Vector Legal is hiring junior / mid-level emerging company venture capital (ECVC) lawyers to serve as both client advisor and counterparty-facing negotiator, contributing to a hybrid AI-powered legal platform. The role combines traditional legal practice with product-minded thinking, working with startup and investor clients while shaping scalable legal workflows and platform features.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advisory and negotiation support across venture capital financings, SAFE and Note financings, day-to-day corporate matters, equity issuances, lease negotiations, and various commercial contracts.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate legal expertise into scalable workflows, playbooks, and platform features.

Qualifications

  • JD and active membership in the California Bar
  • 2–5 years of experience at a law firm or in-house legal team
  • Foundational knowledge of emerging company / venture capital law
  • Experience with NVCA financings and core startup corporate documents
  • Ability to manage client relationships with supervision
  • Strong drafting, research, and issue-spotting skills
  • Interest in legal technology and building scalable systems
