About the role

Staff Product Manager to define and drive the strategic direction of Kodiak's Level 4 autonomous trucking platform across the full hardware stack and customer deployment landscape, with high autonomy and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Own the long-term product vision for the Kodiak Driver hardware ecosystem — sensors, compute, and vehicle integration — translating market signals, customer insights, and technical constraints into a coherent multi-year roadmap.
  • Lead requirements development across the full hardware stack, making principled trade-offs that balance capability, cost, and deployment readiness.
  • Partner deeply with engineering, operations, supply chain, systems engineering, and perception teams to align development efforts with strategic priorities.
  • Own the full product lifecycle end-to-end, from requirements through deployment and iteration.
  • Provide clear, high-signal communication to leadership, engineering, and customers on autonomy software maturity, ODD readiness, and roadmap progress.
  • Mentor and raise the standard for product management at Kodiak, establishing frameworks and norms for the PM team.
  • Travel: 10-25% to visit commercial deployment sites and hardware partner locations.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years in product management, with a substantial track record in hardware-intensive domains — autonomous vehicles, robotics, advanced manufacturing, or logistics systems
  • Demonstrated ability to own product strategy at the platform level, not just feature execution
  • Deep technical fluency to engage with sensor engineers, system architects, and firmware teams
  • History of driving alignment across large, matrixed organizations
  • Sharp judgment under ambiguity and strong decision-making
  • Exceptional communication skills for technical and executive audiences
  • MS or PhD in engineering, computer science, or related technical field
