About the role

Leader responsible for shaping and executing Fireworks' developer relations strategy, building and leading a team of developer advocates, and driving developer adoption and engagement across owned and unowned properties and events.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate Fireworks developer communities across owned properties (docs, blog, examples, cookbooks, Discord, forums, developer newsletter) and unowned properties (GitHub, X, Reddit, YouTube, Hacker News, open-source projects).
  • Own in-person strategy for hackathons, workshops, meetups, conference talks, sponsorships, and developer dinners; measure impact on durable adoption.
  • Hire, develop, and lead a team of developer advocates with fast-learning loops for new model releases and research; define ownership areas and content/speaking standards; ship and learn in public.
  • Own content engine for onboarding developers to production: tutorials, quickstarts, reference apps, benchmarks, video, and deep technical writing on inference, fine-tuning, and serving open models.
  • Be the voice of developers inside Fireworks; relay friction, feature requests, and unmet needs to product/engineering with evidence; close the loop with developers when shipped.
  • Instrument the developer journey from awareness to signup, first build, and active production usage; report developer health to executives; tie DevRel activity to adoption and retention.

Qualifications

  • Experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, or related field (leadership role preferred)
  • Track record building and scaling developer communities and field presence (talks, conferences, sponsorships)
  • Ability to recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performance advocacy team
  • Strong communication skills; ability to turn developer feedback into product improvements
  • Experience with AI/ML tooling, open models, or AI infrastructure is advantageous
