About the role
Accounting Solutions Expert for Blue Onion, a YC-backed fintech building AI-powered accounting and financial workflow automation. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role bridging an AI order-to-cash reconciliation platform with finance teams, supporting pre-sales, onboarding, configuration, and product feedback.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the in-house subject matter expert on order-to-cash, cash application, accounts receivable, and reconciliation processes and best practices
- Partner with Sales during the pre-sales cycle — join demos and discovery calls to answer technical/operational accounting questions and help prospects map their current-state process to our platform
- Lead or support customer onboarding: understand each client's existing reconciliation workflows, chart of accounts, and AR systems, and configure the platform to match their process
- Translate complex accounting concepts into clear, practical guidance for both customers and internal teams
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers' accounting and finance teams throughout onboarding and ongoing use, ensuring they're getting full value from the platform
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to relay customer feedback, identify gaps, and help shape the roadmap based on real accounting practitioner needs
- Help build internal enablement content, playbooks, and training materials that reflect real-world accounting scenarios
- Provide guidance to product and engineering teams on technical customer product requests and challenges to inform proper roadmapping where possible
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a combination of Big 4 and industry experience
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite, Quickbooks, Xero) and finance/accounting workflows
- E-commerce experience is a plus
- Strong collaboration and teaching orientation
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Independent and team-oriented work style
- Experience with complex workflow automation and reconciliation
