About the role

Senior iOS Frameworks Engineer focused on HealthKit and Health data across Apple platforms. Build and optimize HealthKit features, APIs, and distributed health data storage with emphasis on privacy, performance, and cross‑team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Developing innovative solutions for efficiently syncing health data across multiple Apple platforms.
  • Designing and tuning features for use by millions of users on power and performance constrained devices.
  • Designing and delivering comprehensive test suites in collaboration with our quality assurance and engineering teams.
  • Designing logical, scalable, forward-thinking APIs that serve our developersʼ needs.
  • Participating in peer review of architecture, API, and individual software changes.
  • Collaborating with and advising other teams across Apple, including Design, Privacy, and Security, as well as domain experts in health and fitness.

Qualifications

  • BS Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals
  • 8 years of experience working in Objective-C, Swift, C++ or similar high level programming languages
  • Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
  • Solid background in object-oriented architecture and design
  • Deep understanding of systems-level concepts like multi-threading and interprocess communication
  • Expertise with debugging tools and performance tuning
  • Knowledge of iOS programming and Apple technologies such as Grand Central Dispatch, CloudKit, or XPC Activity/Services
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to collaborate in a diversity of backgrounds and experiences
  • Willingness to learn and improve, and also mentor and support other team members
  • Highly organized, maintaining patience and composure to effectively operate within ambiguity
  • Experience delivering libraries, frameworks or APIs
  • Experience with distributed systems design, development and support
  • Experience with SQL and database technologies
  • Familiarity with Fitness, Wellness or Medical concepts
