About the role
Founding product-focused engineer role at Ardent, building data infrastructure sandboxes for agents. Work across the stack from Postgres compute to UX, ship developer-facing product features, and directly engage with customers to shape the product from its early stages.
Responsibilities
- Rebuild onboarding end to end to enable a customer to create a branch of their production database within 10 minutes on their own cloud
- Build the agent interface for branching across MCP, API, and SDKs so a coding agent can create, test, and tear down a branch with no human in the loop for every provider supported
- Design and ship backend infrastructure to handle branch state at scale: millions of branches a month
- Own the connection experience by supporting any stock Postgres client via a simple connection string
Qualifications
- Strong fundamentals in computer science and architecture design
- Comfortable working across the stack and wearing many hats
- Deep interest in developer tools for agents as users
- Past experience shipping developer-facing products quickly
- Familiarity with Go and Postgres
- Taste and ability to anticipate flow issues
- Strong beliefs, loosely held
